Mission:

The Bareen Initiative for Development (BID) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Afghanistan’s future by engaging with international research, academic and policy communities on strategic issues related to Afghanistan. Our mission is to advocate for human rights and women’s rights, creating favorable conditions to access fundamental human rights, regardless of nationality, race, or socio-economic status. BID aims to foster intellectual spaces for dialogue to address issues related to democratic values, human rights and women’s rights in Afghanistan. BID aims to promote sustainable development initiatives to address strategic and critical challenges and issues related to Afghanistan. Through education and leadership programs, BID empowers individuals and communities to build a better future and just and equitable world. BID is committed to upholding professionalism, altruism, benevolence, and progressive values in all its activities and programs.

Vision:

BID is committed to supporting the creation of a world where inclusive democratic values and fundamental human rights are accessible to all without regard to nationality, race, or socio-economic status. Our long-term vision is to strive and transform these democratic values and rights into realities not just as aspirations, particularly for the marginalized communities in Afghanistan and beyond.

Goal:

To transform Afghanistan’s future by fostering dialogue, advocating for human and women’s rights, promoting sustainable development, and empowering youth, thereby creating a more equitable, inclusive, and resilient society.

Objectives:

BID is dedicated to four primary objectives: engaging with international research, academic and policy communities on issues related to Afghanistan, creating an intellectual space for dialogue, and raising awareness, advocating human rights and women’s rights as well as mobilizing support for Afghanistan and promoting sustainable development initiatives. As Our commitment is to create positive change in the world by working towards these objectives and contributing to a more equitable and just society.

  • Engagement with international research, academic and policy communities on strategic issues related to Afghanistan.
  • Create an intellectual space for dialogue on democratic values, human rights and women’s rights situation in Afghanistan, fostering open discussions and awareness to bring about positive change.
  • Advocating for the Human Rights and women’s rights to ensure access to fundamental human rights. Raising awareness and mobilizing international support for Afghanistan’s human rights and development challenges.
  •  Promoting sustainable development initiatives to address strategic and critical challenges and issues related to Afghanistan
  • Empowering young people through education, skill-building, and mentorship program
